Cheryl's quilts.....

I have 2 more quilts made by Cheryl to post today. She does some amazing stitching, and a lot of it, and these are only 2 of them. Early in the year I quilted some amazing hand pieced hexagon quilts, and I still have some of her work in the queue to do yet.
The first quilt is a Nikki Tervo design that Cheryl has made in black and white. If you click on the link you will find other patterns by Nikki, this is one of her Mandala stitcheries.

This quilt shows you more of Cheryl's amazing work. It is a Jenny McWhinney design called Bunnies in my Garden. I love the detail in the patterns, and Cheryl's thread painting is such that people who saw the quilt thought it had been done by machine. I know it is right out of my league, but I would like to try something like this with my machine. I did simple custom quilting on this, not wanting to take over the stitching.

You can almost feel the wind blowing the leaves and his scarf in this one......

and see the bunny stretching up to pick the apples.......

and I hope you can see the cute little bees flying around this rabbit. You might like to click on the photo and enlarge it to see the thread work of the wings.

I think the expression on the face of this bunny says he does NOT want to do the work.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend whatever you are doing. The weather here is sunny outside, but not too hot yet. Spring is lingering on longer this year. I have got water going in the garden, and have had a weeding session this afternoon. Tomorrow after church, I hope to get some more weeding done on the other side of the house, and bring up some more bricks from the back yard, to finish the edge of the side garden. I have a lot of succulents in pots that I want to plant in a new garden in the front corner of the house, so have done some preparation there as well. (Have just remembered I was going to post before and after photos of the side garden.)

I finished a custom quilt this morning, and will load another one for Monday morning. Now it is time to down any work tools, and decide if I want to do something on my personal list, or just sit and veg out???

I just worked out that this is the 8th posting that I have made this week, so you are all probably in shock, after long gaps between blogs in previous weeks!? I think maybe I am feeling like the pressure of life has eased a little, and don't have any deadlines at the moment.

Over and out, for now.

Blessings, From Jude

Thanks once again for your news, sorry I couldn't catch up at the quilt show but it sounds like a success. Weather is improving so hopefully lots of sunny days to come and make gardening a pleasure. 😀😀😀😀😀😀
