Background Info

My background is a lifetime of sewing before being introduced to patchwork in 1996. This passion led to the purchase in 2002 of a longarm quilting machine and the commencement of my business, Cornerstone Creations Machine Quilting. I have been really blessed to work at something I love, go to a "quilt show" everyday, and make some great friends along the way. I have been fortunate to win many awards for both customer and personal quilts and have had projects published in major quilt magazines. During this time, I have participated in many workshops with some amazing teachers, attended conferences and kept up to date with what's happening in the quilting world via the internet.
In 2006 I commenced teaching classes at my home in Bordertown, basic patchwork and also heirloom style quilts. This has led to playing with many techniques, thread work, embellishments, fabric manipulation and decorative stitching work, teaching girls that their machines do much more than straight stitch and zigzag and not being afraid to fiddle with the tension! We have had some fun weekends, with girls travelling some distance to attend. So when the house across the road came up for sale, I thought that it would be a great place for quilting retreats....... And so the journey continues.
In 2015 I sold this house which had been known as The Sanctuary after 5 years of fun times. I am striving to find "balance" in my life and in future will have retreats at my house and continue with quilting for others. And the journey continues.......
