“Tis finished

Yesterday I put the last stitches into the baby quilt. You can see that I made it slightly longer by adding a strip of the darker fabric that is in the middle chevron, to the top and bottom. Just used up the bit that I had left, and I put a bit into each corner of the border as well. And I changed the little border to a green which ties in with the green triangles that were jumping out at me. All this indecision over a little baby quilt!!

This a close up of the fabric that I used, with the monkeys, giraffes, elephants and lions.

I would have liked to custom quilt this quilt, but time has been the big factor, and so I used an edge to edge pattern with monkeys and bananas.

The waiting game is on now, as the due date for the baby’s arrival is on this weekend. I know that mum is ready for delivery, and the latest scans says that the baby was 3.5 kg over a week ago! We will see just how accurate this is. I am also ready to find out if I have another grandson or granddaughter! This will be number 7 for me. Smile

I have also made some burp cloths for the baby, which were really easy and quick to do.

The last few days have been so cold, and mornings have been frosty. Most evenings I work till late in my studio, but on the weekend it was too cold, even with the electric heater on, and I retired to the lounge by the fire. I hardly ever watch the TV, so took the time to watch a class that I had purchased from Craftsy, on my laptop.

Today it is another very cold morning, although not a frost. The wind is springing up and we are hoping for some rain later this week. It will be a lovely cozy place to be this weekend at The Sanctuary by the fire. (Unless this baby decides to arrive and then they might just have Christmas without me for a few hours!)

Hope you are staying warm in the south, and cool in the north. Friends have just arrived back to SA where the temperature yesterday was about 12, after time in Darwin in the north, where the temperature has been in the low 30’s. They are certainly feeling the cold.

Have a good week,

Blessings, From Jude
