Quilt update

I think it is past time for another quilt show from newsfromjude. Below are a few of those that I have finished recently.
First is one by Val, which was one of the paperbag mystery quilts from last year. I did a simple custom on it, by treating it as 9 blocks plus a border. As Val is presently in Darwin, she has not seen this yet. I still have another of her quilts here to do, so maybe it will be on the machine soon.

This was made by Marion for a friend who gave her the feature bird fabric years ago. So she decided to use it in a quilt to give back to her friend.

This is Sue’s head to the border quilt, which has turned out very large. Should have taken a closeup of the owls in the centre, which are rather cute. There are quite a few ladies finishing off their border quilts, ready for our group exhibition in October. Should make a great display to see how each person has interpreted each border.

Edit: Found a closeup of the owls in the centre, followed by Sue’s square in a square border. The quilting was an allover pattern with owls.

This quilt is Linda’s 2013 Bedford quilt, which she has made larger by adding some more scrap fabrics and a border. This was quilted allover with Butterflies and swirls.

A quilt made by Joan, quilted with an allover called 30’s Flower.

This was made by Jacci, and quilted with an allover pattern called Feathered Flowers.

These 2 are made by Jenny. The one above is a panel with border and quilted with pattern called Spiralling Squares. The one below is called Cry Baby, and instead of an allover pattern I use 2 different triangle patterns using Point to Point and made a custom look.

This was made by Sandra, for her 7 year old grandson and quilted with a pattern called Spring Thing.

Sorry it has been so long between “quilt shows”. Will try to be more diligent!
