Exhibition news

It is not long now until our exhibition, and I am counting down the days until “hang up” day on Thursday. This was the scene at our local supermarket yesterday, where our members are selling raffle tickets for a quilt that will be drawn next weekend. We have borrowed the car quilt from the Quilters Guild of SA for advertising purposes. It is certainly something you don’t see everyday!

We have our info on the windscreen of the car. It is a pity you can’t drive this around, as it would certainly stand out. We will have it parked in the street outside the venue during the quilt show, to hopefully attract attention.

This flyer gives you all the details, and it would be fantastic to see lots of people come for a trip to our town. There will be just over 150 quilts on display, and Michele Hill will be opening our show on Friday 16th, and will have a display of some of her quilts and her latest book for sale.

I have had another 4.30am start this morning, and this is what I am working on at the moment. Hope to get this finished today, and then one more small custom to do, before I can finish the last borders of my quilt, and custom quilt it. And then the binding, and the hanging sleeve and all by Wednesday! Hopefully all that will happen, and then a bit of time to tidy the house ready for a few weekend guests. I still have a LOT of STUFF to sort out from the move, but that will keep until after the quilt show, and we can walk around those things for a few more days. Winking smile

Max is switched on and waiting for me to get to work, so catch ya later.

What a novel idea displaying a quilt on a car. You girls in Bordertown are very inventive! Regards, Jean xx
