This was the scene that greeted me this morning when I arrived early to “check in” the quilts as they arrived through the morning. The frames had been put up yesterday, so that as soon as the quilts arrived they could be hung. It was a long day, but a good one with many hands making light work. Can’t say too much about the feet of those who were on them all day though.
Pat and Helen had planned where each quilt was to be hung, and they were put into piles according to which row they were to be hung. This worked really well.
Some of the workers resting their tired feet and trying out the chairs that are situated at the entry point to the hall. These chairs with quilts on them are meant to be sat on, and not just looked at!
President Pat and Treasurer Jo sorting out the raffle tickets that have already been sold. It was a bit confusing with 2 Pat’s, and everytime someone called Pat, they both looked around.
Mary got the job of going around and hanging up the Please do not touch the quilts signs at the end of hanging. I did take another photo of Mary looking at me, but the face said DO NOT TAKE MY PHOTO, so I shall not publish it!
The tables set and ready for people to sit and enjoy a cuppa or their lunch.
A general view from the table area.
A view of the Bedford quilts taken from up on the stage.
A few little interesting touches which are dotted amongst the quilts.
Well it must be time for bed, and looking forward to catching up with lots of quilters in the next 3 days. I think Max can stay switched off, and I shall have some time out!
Blessings, From Jude
