Another day out......and more......

Yesterday Pat and I had another trip up the highway as it was Valuation Panel day, which included a lunch, to celebrate 25 years of the Panel. Quite a few former members of the panel attended, including some of the original panel.

It was also a quilt pickup day, and this is what I brought home with me, to add to the queue.

Traffic was down to a crawl on the freeway on our return trip, due to an accident earlier in the day. We did a detour, thinking it would quicken our trip, and turned off the freeway onto the "old road', but I sort of got a bit "lost" and ended up where I had not intended, and thus did not save any time. Let's just say, that freeway on and off's are confusing, and we ended up going along the same road twice!!?? Just as well it was on the way home, and not going down.
As we did not see the accident, I googled it when I got home and found this photo online. When you see this picture and the remains of the car, it is amazing that 2 men survived this accident.

When we left in the morning, it was still dark, but the lawn was crunchy again, which meant a frost. The day turned sunny by early afternoon, but the temperature was down to about 6 deg by the time we arrived home, about 9pm. This morning there was another frost on the lawn, although it was daylight by the time I looked out the window. I can see sunshine out of the window today, so it might be a nice day out there.

Today my father is 85 years old, and I called in to see him on my way home last night. Some of the family were gathering this morning for brunch to help him celebrate. Happy birthday dad, hope your day is a good one.

As reported in the last post, my cutting fairy was coming to help, and here she is in action.

The checking fairy came on Thursday afternoon, and checked the last of my 25 cases.  This is what is on my table now. The leftover bits of cutting, and lots more scraps to add to my collection.

This morning, I have finished reprinting the final copy of the instructions, after making the corrections that my checking lady told me needed doing. And here they are are, all 25 cases, with the fabrics all cut, ready for someone to sew. I am looking forward to seeing these come to life. The "allocation" process has been changed this time to something different, so this should be a bit of fun. This time next week the room will be a hive of activity.

That's about all the newsfromjude for now, and I am about to go and sit at my machine and actually do some sewing. I had hoped to be organised enough to do this earlier today, but having yesterday out, set me back a few hours. Quilting will wait until Monday now.

There are a few other friends here today, and we are linking up with Chookyblue, who is celebrating the 5th birthday of the Chookshed.

I will be back later to post on our progress.

Blessings, From Jude
