Day 13..........Tuesday, November 21st

This post will be fairly short with no photos to show. It was another lazy start to the day. Do you get the feeling that this is becoming a habit?? But it was a late night last night after returning from our day trip and visit to King's Park.

There were more mundane domestic duties with a visit to the laundry for washing and using the dryer. Barry has been shifting a sprinkler around this area in an effort to keep the grass green and helping the park managers. This week is expected to be rather hot and  forecast to be up to 40deg by Thursday, which will curtail our activities somewhat.

I made a phonecall to my housesitter to ask her to take my car for a drive each week, as it could be 5 weeks before we return. It was soon time for lunch and then we headed for the Midlands Shopping Centre to do some shopping and purchase some Christmas gifts. I also needed to get a script filled.

At the underground carpark Barry parked close to where the lifts were, but when we walked towards them, there was a sign saying they were not operating. OK, we walked further to the next entrance. And proceeded to head up the escalator, and lo and behold, another sign saying out of order!! Next stop was to the rest rooms, and another sign there with some toilets out of action??? Also the water in the handbasins did not all work. Shaking our heads we did our shopping and headed back to the van to unpack it all.

We went out for our evening meal to a place that Barry used to go to often. 5 years have passed since his last visit and things have changed, including this venue which used to be very busy. I wonder if this is a casualty of covid and isolation??

After all our travel the car was rather grubby and Barry had been looking for a car wash, and on the way back to the van, I spotted one. A U Turn was needed and turning around, what did we see?  A sign that said not working!!??? We had to laugh, and wondered what next?? Barry said that as he wasn't working, perhaps he couldn't expect everything else to be either!!

Later in the evening we spent time outside in the 'cool' of the evening watching the planes fly into the Perth airport. While we didn't actually count them, we were surprised just how many planes landed, one after the other, in a short period of time.

There endeth another day. Time is flying by fast.

Doing a big catch up here Jude! Have a wonderful time travelling with Barry, am enjoying your travels and photos so far. Australia is an amazing place isn't it, so much to see and do.

It sounds like you have both settled into “holiday mode”. It usually takes a few days to get to that stage. You do have to laugh when there is such a string of annoying occurrences. I hope you can enjoy some more looking around after your day of domestics.
