Here I am repeating the same old thing about how another week has disappeared and I have been reminded that there has been no blog!! So Faye, this is for you! I know you will appreciate how I dragged myself out of my warm bed at 5am this morning so that I had time to get ready for today and update you with the newsfromjude. This will be a quick post, as I am to leave very soon to spend the day with a lovely bunch of ladies at our group's annual retreat. This is held at Cockatoo Downs, about a 20 minute drive from here. The weather is cold and wet, and there is a lovely wood fire burning in the hall, where there will be about 29 gathered today for some stitching, lots of chatter and laughter. Most of the girls are staying at the camp, but I am travelling home each night and we will be joined with other day trippers today. Our group have been joined by some from nearby Naracoorte, and a contingent of girls from the city. Thanks for coming girls. I took my camera yesterday, but did not even take one photo, but will remedy that today.
Meanwhile here are some photos of recent quilts that I have not posted yet.
This was made by Prue and friends quite a few years ago. It is a friendship quilt, of tree blocks.
And this is a sampler quilt made by Marion, and custom quilted.
Another of those curved quilts, made with the Quick Curve Ruler, by Mary, and quilted with a modern pattern, which has given it lots of texture.
This was a Jemima Puddle Duck panel, and made by Marie for a baby quilt, and quilted allover with Dancing Hearts.
This is Jill's candlewicked quilt, that is very large, and custom quilted. She did not want heavy quilting, so it was SID and a frame for each block and a sashing pattern.
That's all for now, as I need to head back to the camp for breakfast, and a day with friends.
Be back later with photos and news of what is happening.
Blessings, From Jude
