Looking back and reminiscing

It was 27 years ago today that we took possession of our farm at Bordertown. We had actually been living in the house there for 9 months already, but the land had been leased out, and March 15th was the day we were able to stock it, and commence our new venture. We spent the next 10 years on this property. The previous 12 years had been spent dairy farming along the Murray River. The following 2 photos were taken a few years ago, and I found them in the files.

I mentioned in the last post, that it was a public holiday last Monday, and maybe I should take the rest of the day off. On impulse, I decided to visit a friend who had celebrated a birthday the day before. And it just so happens, that this friend and her husband live on a farm, next to the farm pictured above. It was a lovely catchup with them and we chatted about people who used to live in the area and did lots of reminiscing. There have been many changes in the area. I do admit that it was a bit hard driving past our old property, and it brought back many memories, some good and some not so good.  It has been a few years since I had been out that way. And then yesterday I realised that the date today was the 15th, and thought maybe it was more than a coincidence.

I know that we can't go back, but just occasionally I wonder if somehow things could have been different. But then I would not be doing what I am now, and probably would not even know the difference between a blanket and a quilt!! So that's enough of looking back, and time to keep myself busy again.

Hope your week is a good one.

Blessings, From Jude

You're right-- "don't look back"; we all know that the difference between a blanket and a quilt is what makes all the difference! Bless you today.

It's hard looking back sometimes.. I try not to, except to remember the good times. We have had so many different houses and properties I often wonder what life would have been like if we had stayed where we were... different to now I am sure! But thankfully God knows best... xx

It's OK to reminisce, but not think what might have been, because we are where we are now. The way is always forward, but the photos we have are the memories of tomorrow & tell the kids and grandkids about. Take care & huggles.
