At retreat..................Part 3

When I mentioned the goody bags earlier, I forgot to tell about some of the other goodies that we received......there were name tags for us all....a bookmark........ the aussie bush theme followed through........

.....we all received a coffee mug with aussie flowers featured.............

..............and a bag with Scrub stitching 2023 on one side...........

..and all our names on the other!! And there were a few other lucky parcels as well.

********************

This post is mainly a show and tell of what we were working on, and also some of the quilts that were brought to show. Note, they are not all my photos, some from the group page, thanks if they were yours.

More Moda Love quilts.......... this quilt could be made with a charm pack, a layer cake, or the mini charms............

Janice had a good idea to use all three...........

..........with her centre star using the 2 1/2" squares, followed by the charm squares............

.........and finishing with a border using the layer cakes!! Fantastic, and I love the background colour.

A couple more Moda Love quilts, one on the left a bit different.

.............and this one is tiny!!

Some of the girls ordered bundles or kits from my BCNA fundraiser in February and were duly delivered to Scrub Stitching.

Susan ordered this case of strings.............

...............and started making some of the blocks..............

...and had a good amount of blocks before retreat finished. She says she has lots of strings home and will continue to make blocks at home.

A special request quilt with ferrets, horses, boots, pigs and dogs, made by Sue

Janice's Trail Mix quilt. I would like to make one like this, one day??

Lots of teatowels made into a picnic tablecloth. A great use of tea towels.

Susan made an I Spy book for a child. What a great idea, but I believe very time consuming!!

Jo's Storm at Sea. A great concept to add the stars, and boats and fish to this quilt. I have been following Jo's progress on this on her blog over the last few months. Another time consuming project.              Well done Jo.

This was a very small project, and being hand quilted.

The 2 quilts that I quilted for Jo, both Bonnie Hunter patterns, that were for show and tell.

Last year Chooky threw out a challenge to make churn dash quilts, to be finished last October!! Some of us did actually get them done, maybe not by last October, but for SS show and tell.

This was the view behind me while show and tell was on. Some getting a vantage point to take their photos.

More show and tell, not sure who they all belong to... so enjoy without comment.........

There were many more show and tell quilts, but can't post them all here. Check out other blogs to see more. ......................The table decoration of a flowering gum that 'someone' found on the way to retreat.

I think I shall finish my posts here. I have been sitting at the computer all day, sorting photos and doing 3 posts. I hope I haven't forgotten anything.

Thankyou to those who purchased from my sale table at retreat. I was very happy to clear the shelves a little more, ready for new stuff to be packed.

I had already posted our leaving retreat and heading home until we arrived at the Dubbo quilt show. Will do that post soon, as well as our trip home and then I will be up to date and perhaps get back to normal, reality again???

In conclusion, it was an amazing trip, lots of fun meeting everyone and putting names to faces.
Thanks ladies for a fun time, and especially Chooky for all your planning. And thankyou to my travelling companions, it was a blast!!

Blessings, From Jude

Thank you Jude for doing the three posts on Scrub Stitching 2023.
I loved meeting all the ladies and seeing ALL those gorgeous quilt and projects all were working on.
The Illyarrie gum is a perfect table decoration for the Aussie theme. We planted many on our five acres and they are in full bloom now.

Such amazing work from everyone & way out of my league. Pity I couldn't get there to meet some people too, but that's life. Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos & glad the weather played nicely. Take care & hugs.
