This is a photo of Pat's quilt, which was done sometime last month. I was pretty happy with the way this turned out and so was Pat. Still have quite a few quilt photos to blog sometime, and a report of last weekends Statler Gathering. Have been busy catching up this week, with quilts, and washing.
Will be back soon.
Enjoy your day, Blessings, From Jude

Two more
Just a couple more photos of 2 custom jobs done for Linda. Love to get the pieced quilts, as a change to the appliqued and embroidered quilts. Thankyou Linda.
Am home again after a great weekend, will post more about this and some photos later in the week.
Just getting the fire going to warm the house up, put some washing through the machine and switch back to quilting from retreats.
Blessings,
From Jude

Testing again
Have to confess that the last blog was not me, but Sue, who was helping me try to sort out why I could not post. She went in and sorted things for me, and happy me, now things are working again! THANK YOU SUE. Sue is one of the lovely ladies here at The Sanctuary for the Statler Users Gathering. It is a great time of networking, chatting, laughing, eating, sewing, learning and timeout. The weather is so cold, and wet, but the wood fire is going overtime and the house is cozy. The attendees have all driven from 3 to 6 hours to get here, which is a great effort. Thankyou.
Well, I better finish off and think about what the menu will be for today and start some preparation.
Will be back soon with more photos of the weekend and recent quilting.
Enjoy your day, whatever you are up to on this Sunday,
Blessings,
From Jude

Have been absent from home
Last night I returned from a few days in the big city (well Adelaide is not really such a big city), left in the pouring rain on Friday morning, and came home late afternoon yesterday. Was reminded again how close spring is when I saw all the wattle flowering on the sides of the highway. And the canola crops in the paddocks coming into flower all made for a great yellow display. My photography is not the best, and it was late afternoon, but you get the idea.
The season closer to the city is further on than here at Bordertown, as we are further south and a bit later. Have not seen much sunshine lately, but have had good rains around this area, will check out how much rain we had later. As long as we get finishing rains in September the farmers should be happy, but its a long way yet until the harvest is in the silo.

While in Adelaide I spent time with family, and below is one my grandsons, having a good time in a large box. Amazing how such simple things can be fun, although he does love his tractors and trucks.
Well it must be time to get back to work after my time off, get the fire going again, and start on another quilt.
Have a weekend at The Sanctuary coming up, the Statler Users Gathering, which I am looking forward too.
I still am unable to edit or publish from blogspot, all my icons are greyed out, so if anyone can help me with a fix, I would be glad to hear from you.
So hope you enjoy your week, whatever you are doing,
Blessings, From Jude

Some more quilts
Have been having trouble with blogspot lately, and don't seem to be able to post from there for some reason.
But I am hoping this will work, typing from Picaso and publishing?
Have been busy this week, and have lots of quilts to show you, so will just do 4 today.

These are 2 scrap quilts, made by Lois, to use up her fabrics, lots of fabrics in these quilts that you would not normally put together, but it all works and looks good.
Below is the raffle quilt for the VinePatch Quilters in the Barossa. Reckon I shall buy a few tickets myself, its a lovely bright, fun quilt.

Spring is coming
Just a few photos from the garden, a little of taste of spring on its way. Need to go and pull out a few weeds, and bought a few plants when I went to an appointment yesterday. And also visited the variety shop and came home with a few PINK things for the coming weekend. Also nearly finished stitching a PINK quilt for a raffle, so its all coming together at last. I think that PINK might be seriously overdone by the end of the Pink weekend!

Today is a day to remember, as 39 years ago I married the love of my life. I was 19.
What a journey it has been since then.
I often wonder that we marry and have children, and go through life, usually without any "training" or formal qualifications. Then with the "wisdom" of hindsight, and life's experiences, we can look back and wonder if things would have turned out different if we knew then, what we know now!?
Seems to me that the "getting of wisdom" is all back to front, and we should have that knowledge when we start out in the most important jobs of all. Not sure if I have worded all that quite right, and I think that's enough philosophy (sp)? for today.
I hold onto the promise in Romans 8 v 28, that God works for good with those who love him,
and that God continues to lead me.
My husband died 8years ago, but I still have 4 beautiful children, and so far 6 grandchildren.
My journey has led me to a business of machine quilting, where I get to go to a quilt show every day and meet some lovely people. And now my other business of The Sanctuary, a quilting and craft retreat.
Enjoy your day.
Blessings,

Some more quilts
A recent custom job and 2 edge to edge quilts. Finished another custom today, and started another one.
If I reach my self imposed targets this week, I might take a day off and go to a Quilt show on the weekend??

One year on
This is a blog posting that I meant to do yesterday, but was on a mission to finish a custom quilting job. But alas I did not finish it, so today is the day. I decided after doing some of the feathers that I did not like them, so changed the way I was doing them, and then later had to unpick the first lot, and maybe they weren't so bad after all, but too late, spent 2 hours "reverse" stitching and this morning I shall resew and hopefully finish this quilt.
Yesterday, July 31 was one whole year since I started blogging. Doesn't time go fast! And to see the number of pageviews since then, is amazing. Can't really believe the traffic. But thankyou to all those who check in on me. Has been a great journey, and a record of what's been happening for me to look back on.
Better get to work, its nearly 8 am and I have been up since 5am. Wednesday mornings I have a Bible Study group here at 6.30am, always a great time.
This morning the temperature was -1deg and the lawns are very white. But it is still winter, and inside my house the heater is going. Enjoy your day
