Time for another report of newsfromjude, and I am wondering what exactly I have been up to?? I have just checked up on recent posts and noted that I said this..................
I am returning home tomorrow and Mum is coming back with me for a few days of R and R. I have an awful lot of quilts waiting in the queue, but am thinking and hoping that they might wait a bit longer, as we take a bit more time to process all this and spend a relaxing week chatting, visiting, having coffees, reading, looking at photos and perhaps even time in the garden??
Well it seems that 9 days have gone by since then and I can tell you that Max has NOT been turned on, and we did manage to do all of the things mentioned above! We joined friends at our local garden centre for morning coffee and chatting, entertained friends at home, enjoyed coffee and scones, visited a friend in the local nursing home, and spent a lot of time in the garden.
We sat out the front of my house and enjoyed a cuppa in the afternoon sun.............
......while admiring the roses in full bloom................
...........spent time visiting with friends..............
...................managed a bit of time in the recliner................
...................by the fire when the weather turned cold...................
.......checked the messages (or did jigsaw puzzles) on the Ipad.............
..............I did some digging in the garden, getting this area ready for planting...............
.......and found these pots in the back yard...............
............they just need a bit of sanding of the loose paint.............
...........and hey presto here they are all painted and ready to go to Mum's house..........
...............we enjoyed a lunch of fish and chips sitting in the car by the lake.................
It was a very relaxing week and the days flew by too quick. We read books and looked at photo albums. The garden had a lot of attention and I discovered my mum loves to prune everything in sight! We enjoyed a Bible study meeting with my group and it is very special to share our faith with each other.
I also managed to get some more housecleaning done, and who would believe that I could be so excited to do just that?? A lot of those jobs that I haven't been able to get to in the busyness of recent life. If I keep up with all of this I am not too sure if I will have time to get back to work again??
All too soon it was time to take Mum home again, and on Sunday morning we set off early. It was DD1's birthday and we drove almost 3 1/2 hours to attend a family lunch to celebrate with her before I took Mum home. It was a beautiful sunny day, with a clear blue sky and we drove through country that neither of us had been before to attend the lunch at Tenafeate Creek Winery in the Adelaide Hills.
(the little person you can see at the fence is Miss Bridie)
I often see good photo opportunities while I am driving but don't stop for them as it adds time to my trip. But on the way back we took a bit of time to stop and record the journey. The big gum trees n the hills are just beautiful and here is one on the edge of the road! There are not too many places I could stop easily to take photos as the roads are so windy.
There were many paddocks of vines and hay being baled. This one was taken close to Tungkillo and you can see the pipeline in the distance.
And another one showing the pipeline..........
....and here again, taken in Tungkillo. This pipe takes water from the Murray river at Mannum through the hills to the city of Adelaide.
Closer to Palmer now, and I drive through here on the way to the Barossa and have always thought it would be good to stop for picture, and this time we did. The rocks in the paddocks are huge and would be great feature in my garden!!??
This was taken from the lookout on top of the hills and overlooking the plains towards the river at Mannum, with the silos of Palmer in the centre.
Now we are back to Mum's and the roses between the 2 units here are such a pretty shade of pink. When the wind blows the petals seem to end up at Mum's front door, but she is not too fussed and calls them confetti!
Somehow it seems to be Wednesday already and Mum went home on Sunday!? And I can tell you that not much has been achieved since then either! I think Monday was recovery from jetlag day?? And Tuesday was recovery from the heat day!! The temperature soared from lovely spring weather to HOT and a top of close to 40 and while I don't "do" cold very well, I definitely don't "do" hot either.
Last night we were treated to an amazing lightening display, with thunder that sounded like it was on top of the house and a good rain for my garden and tank. Not too sure if the farmers will be happy this close to harvest time and there were a few fires started by the lightening.
Perhaps it's time to head to the shops and restock the fridge as I now have another visitor for a couple of weeks and I probably need to cater for my fairy? Hopefully my mind will soon feel the urge to turn on Max, or I could get used to all this socialising and relaxing?
Enjoy your day,
Blessings From Jude

That looks to me like some fantastic time out. Time to reflect and remember and adjust to the new normal. And made even better as you got to spend quality time together.
What a fabulous time you spent together and ending with a lovely catch up with family for a birthday..
Those pipe lines are the life line of some out back places. That's how the Goldfields here in the West survive.
Hmm Me thinks you only need one of those huge rocks in your garden......
Sounds like a busy but pleasant time working around the garden and spending time with your Mum and family. ๐๐๐บ๐บ
After Busy Busy, shouldn’t we STOP.. & smell the roses.๐น Lovely to see you did this with your Mum, & then a family get-together on a perfect summers day. I see you developing a teeny pair of wings...Are you becoming a Social Butterfly ๐ฆ
You girls certainly got some lovely time together and with the family. Great memories for all concerned.
Wonderful to spend that time with your Mum, at home and out and about, great to finish up with the birthday party and trip through the countryside. Lovely tomhave the fairy visiting again.
Your time with your Mum and the rest of the family sounded ideal. I’m glad those quilts were able to wait a while longer. I’ve enjoyed seeing some of the countryside that you travel through. Thanks for taking the time to stop and take some photos.
the time with your mum sounds great.....the roses are amazing......
I'm so far behind the fairy must almost be heading home.......
hope you have become friends with Max again.....
Maybe Max needed a rest too. Some things, like relationships with family, come first any way.
Lovely post.
