Checking in............

Once again I have been reminded that there has been a lack of newsfromjude, and I see that the only post of September happenings was my customer quilt update a few days ago. The biggest problem I have when the posts are so far between, is trying to remember just what I have been doing!

It was lovely to have a visit from DS and family early in September, and I was able to spend time with Miss Bridie and Mr Tate while Mum and Dad went to a party. They both love to play (?) the piano and Miss Bridie always wants to sew. Tate is a busy little boy and not really interested in drawing and other crafty things.

I finally finished Tate's quilt so he could take it home.

A quick family photo as they left on Sunday morning. This might be the last pic of the family of four, as in November they will be a family of 5!! Grandchild number 11 is coming soon!!

More time has been spent with Max in an effort to finish customer quilts that will be displayed at the Kaniva quilt show that is due to be held in October. More details about this soon.

There has been the usual appointments with doctors, more blood tests and a hair colour and trim.
Time has been spent in the garden, getting the veg garden ready for summer plantings and replanting the strawberry plants. There was also committee and general meetings for our local quilt group and preparations are underway for our 2023 quilt show.

In an effort to "try" to use up the excess fabric in this house, we had a day to make QFO quilts.

I am reminded that it is spring out in the garden, and these freesia's have the most beautiful aroma when I walk out the laundry door.

Even the sour sobs look pretty!!

I have spent some time working on a special project that I have had a whole year to do, and you won't be surprised that I have left it until the last minute to do. I pulled out this tub of fabrics to use, .....

...........and this tray of threads and trims to go with it.

I will be back another day to report on what I have made. I am happy to report that it is almost finished. There is only a bit of hand sewing to do, and that will take me awhile!!

The remaining of my time this month has been taken up with home duties, in preparation for special people coming for a retreat!!! Yesterday saw the arrival of the first guests, another coming today and more tomorrow. We are so excited!! After all this time it felt so good to be sitting around the tables and chatting and sharing and laughing!!

Will be back 'sometime' with a report. Time to get back to the sewing room.

Blessings, From Jude

So rewarding to spend time with grandchildren. They grow so fast. Very nice to have colour in the garden on those grey dull days. The ‘Quilt For Others’ group is off to a good start, all look very productive & enjoyed the company of like minded people who are willing to sew for others. 🪡🧵

So busy as usual......don't know how you do it. Lovely to see the grandies and they are certainly growing up. Wow, number 11 on the way! You've passed my total now & our youngest 2 turn 15 next month so must be nice to still play with littlies. Have a great time with your visitors and take care.
