Back to quilts..............

Upon checking back into my posts I have discovered that the last post of customer quilts was on May 30th!! So, in case you might start to think that I have been sitting around twiddling my thumbs I shall catch up on the backlog of some quilting pics.

The first one was made by Erica and was booked for custom quilting. Erica and I were very happy with the way this turned out.

This Unicorn quilt was made by Ann at the request of a granddaughter and it was simply quilted allover with Dancing Hearts.

Sue sent me 3 quilts for allover quilting and asked that this one be done first for a family member. It was quilted with a pattern called Tapestry.

Jenny makes a lot of quilts, and apparently her hubby made the comment that she hadn't made one for him! So here it is, and quilted allover with a circle pattern called Asti.

This was also made by Jenny with flannel fabrics so will be very useful this winter!

This hand pieced hexie quilt was made by Sue, and appliqued to a border. Sue wanted an allover bee pattern and it is called Busy Bees.

Sherrel made this quilt in lockdown and requested a fan or lantern pattern and this one was called Japanese lanterns.

Helen finished her Mystery and Mayhem (and Improvisation) quilt and this was quilted allover with Paper Poppies.

Marie made this quilt in 2020 and is the QGSA Mystery quilt, Around the Block and this was quilted with simple custom.

Another of Marie's quilts that was made in 2020 Isolation was the QGSA Mystery Pick a box and this was quilted allover with Dandy.

Prue has used up many of her scraps in the making of this amazing quilt! She said she enjoyed the process and got quite addicted to making the blocks. This was quilted edge to edge with Deb's Swirls.

This is not another quilt although it could be. It is the back for Prue's quilt and used up a panel that had been in her stash for a long time.

The side borders of the back are of this elephant fabric.

Our local group make a quilt to be raffled for every exhibition and the funds are donated to a local cause. This year is was decided for members to make Wonky Log cabin blocks and they were given a piece of fabric to match colours to. It is always a challenge having many people make blocks for a quilt, so they were to be larger than needed and trimmed after. They were then assembled with sashing and cornerstones and the feature fabric added for a border and it then waited patiently for the quilter. I could should have quilted it allover, but decided that those "empty" triangles needed some custom quilting. Hopefully it will raise some funds for worthy causes.

This quilt has turned out to be quite large, at 74" x 94"! (and don't ask me how the type colour turned out to be blue, and I can't change it back to black)!!

The back of the quilt shows up the quilting well.

It seems the blue is here to stay and it's time to finish this post anyway. Maybe the next post will be back to black?? Computers can be frustrating sometimes.

The last week has been busy but I shall save that for another post soon. Tomorrow I have to start dealing with the elephant in the room!

Blessings, From Jude

It’s always very interesting to see the next quilt parade. As I flick through each photo I think of the quilter who has chosen a design, then the fabrics then the pleasure it gives each one of them as they complete a treasure. Then it’s a challenge to you Judy, to give them your magic touch. I know how much you enjoy that process ( when you have reached a decision) & your customers are extremely happy with the results.

What a wonderful collection of quilts - love the charity one - and I can see why you filled those otherwise empty triangles.

Have fun with the elephant.
