Tuesday - Part 1

Here I am with another post, this time from the hotel at Cameron on Wednesday afternoon. I have an hour before we get on the bus again, to travel to Hamilton for a trunk show at Missouri Star Quilt Company.

Tuesday was another full day and I will again divide it up into smaller posts.

We had free time until 10.30 when it was all aboard to go "Ride the Ducks". This is a fun adventure through the scenic Ozarks. We boarded the "Duck" and drove along the famous Branson strip and to the mountain. There we drove around the mountain, and learnt of the history of the American military vehicles.

Anyone for a lolly? Heaps of these in the gift shop.

Driving through the city streets.

Passsing the dinosaur park, sorry you can't see much,, I was on the other side of the "duck".

Heading up the mountain.

Views from the top of Table Rock Lake.

Part of the army vehicle display.

It was about here that they were acknowledging their veterans, and their service for the country, and played patriotic music. And coincidentally, it was then that we realised that it was actually the 25th April in Australia, and Anzac Day. That was another amazing moment.

This was one of the first ducks in use. Actually they are called Ducks, but it really is DUKW. (But sorry I can't remember what that stood for.)

This is the weather station, and I am not sure if you can read it or not. Click on it to make it larger. It was very funny.

After driving around the mountain, the duck drove straight into the water.

A few of our group drove the duck around the lake.

We did get a speech about how to use these life jackets in an emergency, but were then reassured that there had never been a need before.

The captains received a certificate when we got back to land.

These were the duck whistles we all received, and had to blow if we saw another "duck.

And I might have bought some for a few little people at home. I am sure their parents will be pleased.

More sweets, that you can fill a container with!

There endeth the first part of our day. Back soon.

Blessings, From Jude
