WCH quilts

A few months ago there was a call out for quilts by the Women's and Childrens Hospital (WCH) for teenagers who would be spending 3 months on hospital. I phoned the coordinator of this project and volunteered to supply the 16 they needed for one delivery. I have a LOT of fabric in this house that needs to be put to use and with the help of a few friends we set to work.(2 of the quilts below were donated by a local quilter.)
Here are the 16 finished quilts.

The quilts are  for the Comfort Ability Group that is treating teenagers for chronic pain. A letter received from staff explains that 1 in 4 young people experience chronic pain which impact their ability to go to school and learn and participate in what most of us would consider normal activities. The list of pain conditions includes many conditions that I would have expected in older people and not teenagers. They are very grateful for the quilts that many quilters are making for them.

Thankyou to those who helped put these together and especially to the binding fairy, whose finger is now in recovery.

Thankyou to Robyn who delivered these to Hannah at the Women's and Childrens Hospital last week.

Now it's time to think about stitching up some more quilts to be donated to those in need.

Blessings,
 From Jude

That was a huge commitment you chose to take, & you were ready for the challenge. Friends were kind with help & donations. Sad to hear of this problem youngsters are coping with, but a quilt is comforting when facing illness or other trauma. Best wishes for a great result in researching this condition. 💕
