It seems a long time since I have posted photos of customer quilting, so this morning it is catch up time. Our power has been turned off for about an hour, and so Max can't be used, nor the iron or sewing machine. The lights are all off, and it's gloomy outside, so the house is fairly dark, which makes even house cleaning a non event. But I do have battery backup on my laptop, a plug in internet connection and an LED light, so all is not lost. I will use the time for a blog post.
First up is a One Block Wonder quilt, made by Lois, and quilted allover with a swirly pattern. The fabrics are very busy, so the quilting is in the background and the piecing shines, which I had hoped for. I do admire the work that goes into these quilts, but can't say that it is on my list of quilts to do anytime soon.
Prue made this quilt that was started in a Kaleidescope workshop many, many years ago. She is very happy to have finally finished it, and it was quilted allover with a Daisy pattern.
All the leftover blocks and fabric scraps were joined and added to the back.
This is Marie's Casa Felix Mystery quilt that started in March this year, by the SA Quilters Guild, while we were all in Isolation. This was quilted allover with a pattern called Angel Wings. This reminds me that my Casa Felix quilt is still waiting in the "quilters queue" for one day!!
There should be another one to post, but I can't seem to find a photo, so perhaps it slipped out the door before I took one?? I do have some more custom photos, but they can wait for another day, as the power has just come back on. Time to go and stand with Max and start the quilt that I loaded earlier this morning.
This quilt was made by Francine for her son, and was quilted allover with Popcorn.

All those years ago, when this quilt was started, the cut pieces of the block were pinned together and put away until later, and here is a photo of what could happen if you leave pins in fabric for a looong time! Fortunately those little dots blend quite nicely in with the colours of the flower!!

Helen made this quilt for her Grandson, and it was quilted allover, except for those on point squares, which had a different pattern in them. The edge to edge pattern used is Ocean Waves.

Have a good day, what ever you are up to, and I shall be back soon.

Well done to the talented quilter & all the piecers. Take care & hugs.
Beautiful quilts and quilting, you have been busy. So good to see quilts being finished that have been a long time in the making.
It’s always a joy to see the range of designs you are given to quilt. Then to see your expertise to give them the final flourish 🧵
