Looking back at 2024.............

I usually look back at the year and do a summary of the happenings,.............so I have spent time this afternoon doing this and found out the a LOT of the year has involved travel, there has been a little bit of quilting, and lots of catching up with friends and family.............so here is a very brief summary of some of our activities..........

January we spent time in the Barossa, camped on the block of DS where they were in the process of building a new house..........

............we travelled to Kingston for the day to catchup with my school friend Dianne, who lived in Cairns and was in SA visiting her sister..........I was so glad to have caught up with Di, as in July I received the sad news that she had passed away, 2 weeks before her 70th birthday. 😭😭

Early in the year there was a big cleanup in the shed, and now we can put a car in there, instead of all the junk................

We spent time at Murray Bridge in the caravan park..........

.....and visited  family while we were there.............

There was a visit by DS and family and Miss Bridie loved her time at the sewing machine...........

Easter time was celebrated at a local church with a lovely outdoor service.............

We had time away at Waikerie, where we caught up with friends.....

..............and went to a quilters gathering.........

..........we visited mum................

There was another caravan trip to the east of the country............
and we met up with my cousin and her husband...........

.........we went on a paddlesteamer for a cruise up the river..............

.......and spent time with Barry's friends at Wodonga..............

............and met up with fellow longarm quilter Susan at Yackandandah..........

.

............and another quilting friend at Moruya in New South Wales..........

..and another catchup with 2 of my cousins.....................

In May I turned 70, and celebrated with family and friends at Mundulla............

..............and GD2 announced her engagement...........

June and July saw us off on another caravan trip, this time up the centre of our  country.............

..........where we had a helicopter ride over King's Canyon .........

.and a plane trip over Lake Eyre and the Painted Hills.............

................and met up with one of my cousins in Alice Springs................

....and had a pic taken at Mataranka Springs.............

........and a swim in the warm water of the springs.................

we enjoyed meals at Stokes Wharf in Darwin.............

......and a Sunset cruise around the Darwin harbour.............

............and on the way south again, we loved Standley Chasm...........

and spent time with family on our way home from our trip............

In August Barry and I were married at our local church, in a very small ceremony with 2 witnesses and my mum to give me away.........

In October I took my wares to Kaniva for their biennial quilt show............

......and Sherrel won a highly commended ribbon for her quilt in the Melbourne quilt show............

In September we were off on another trip to Cameron's Corner and caught up with another blogging friend, Jo, in Mildura...............

............and I stepped into Queensland...........

........and enjoyed a sunset at Lake Menindee..........

...and attended a quilt show at Irimple...........

In October we attended the engagement party of GD2...........

............and the 21st birthday party of my nephew where mum was enjoying having all her children together at the same time.............

In November we enjoyed a sewing day for Melbourne Cup day.........

........and I have to say this is the only stitching time I have had all year...........(and it is still not finished)

In November DD1 celebrated her 50th birthday and some of the family enjoyed an evening at a winery in the Adelaide hills.........

In December we celebrated the 93rd birthday of my mum.........

December also saw us head off on another caravan trip, this time to West Australia again..........

.....where we have enjoyed some rest time..........

..................and enjoyed Christmas with Barry's family.........

..........and this is where we are camped tonight, for a very quiet new year's eve.

You can see there has been a lot of travel time, and it seems like we have been all over............and this is a map of Australia and you can see that there is a lot of country to see yet.

On a quilting note, I entered 2 of my own quilts into Adelaide Quilt show in July,................

and received a Highly commended ribbon for one.

That is a very brief summary of the year that was 2024!! What will 2025 bring??

Blessings, From Jude

Wow, what a year. You have achieved so much even if it wasn’t sewing. You both have had a fantastic time. Looking forward to seeing where you go in 2025
