After the months of planning and preparation, those 3 days disappeared and it was Sunday afternoon and almost time to pack it up. The drawing of the raffle quilt was announced and the winner was Mon Maney of Mundulla. Thanks to all those who supported us and bought tickets. The proceeds will go to 2 local worthy causes, the Royal Flying Doctors and St Vincents.
Their were 3 winners of each layer of the birthday cake.
After President Michelle thanked all who had helped in any way putting the exhibition together it was time to announce the winners of the viewers choice award.
We always have a gentlemen's choice award as well, and it's interesting to see how seriously the guys take this task. (It's also a way to get them involved so that the wives can spend more time looking!)
AND NOW A DRUM ROLL FOR ..........
VIEWERS'S CHOICE
FIRST - Pat's Bees for Life
SECOND - Lyn's Dragonflies
GENTLEMEN'S CHOICE
FIRST Lyn's Feathered Friends
SECOND - Pat's Bees for Life
**********************************************************************************
I thought I had taken a lot of pics of quilts hanging at the show, but even after 3 days wandering around there are lots I don't have. I do have a few others to share with you.........................
JEAN'S PARQUETRY
Jean has been working on this for a few years now, and the design is based on the pattern of the game's room floor. I had not seen this in progress so was very surprised when she arrived at my door with her quilt requesting quilting. She has done a fantastic job recreating the pattern using freezer paper templates. I do have a post to come in due course showing the recent custom quilting just before the show and will include this in that post. - Well done Jean!
VAL'S STRING QUILTS
I did post awhile ago of this quilt that Val made to use up strings in my drawer........
........and then this one also to use up the strings. Not too sure why the drawer is still packed tightly after all these strings came out of it??? Val did a great job to work out the colour values for each segment of this to show the 3 dimensional effect.
The next 2 quilts were made by one of our members who moved "over the border" since the last quilt show, but is still a member. She did an amazing job with QAYG on these quilts.
Another of Pat's quilts, Japanese Reflections, made, started in a class with Faye Packham in 2013.
Prue's quilt, Illusions
Another of Prue's, Triple 4patch Criss Cross.
Sue's quilt, Delightful Desert by Elizabeth Hartman
Heather's scrappy quilt
These posts are only a few of the 131 quilts displayed at the show.
I hope you have enjoyed a glimpse into our 2021 exhibition.
Despite the uncertainty in the week leading up to hanging the quilts, we do realise and appreciate that we were able to have a quilt show. Our sympathy goes out to those other states that have been in lockdown and not even able to go about their usual activities, let alone a quilt show.
Be back sometime with a post of "other" stuff. Enjoy your Sunday afternoon.
Blessings, From Jude
(who has had a fairly quiet week, "pottering" and now about to spend some time in the garden. I can hear the birds are singing, the sun is trying to come out, we have had a good rain and the weeds are growing!)

Wow! What talent you have in your area and I can see why you have been so busy, when we see your input to so many of the quilts. Mick likes the idea of the Gentleman’s Choice. He feels it should be at all shows. I’m glad you have had a quiet week. Enjoy playing in the garden.
That’s a Grand Finale for your blogs showing so many aspects of the Quilt Exhibition. They say Winners are Grinners, & I was thrilled to be there too. Every quilt that was hung was made by a lady who has the love of quilting in her heart ❤️
Some very worthy prize winners.
I like the idea of the gentleman's choice prize. My hubby is very supportive, but some do tend to get bored.
This looked like a wonderful show. Fantastic work everyone. Congratulations to all that won
Wow what a show and congratulations to you and the Fairy! I like the idea of the gentleman's choice too, my hubby would not go, but others would. Good to hear you have had a quieter week, enjoy time in your garden.
So nice to see some familiar faces! Congratulations, Dears...
Wow, so many beautiful quilts and talented ladies! One day I hope we can cross the border and see one of your quilt shows in person! In the meantime, thanks for sharing with us and enjoy your pottering xx
Congratulations to all the winners….
So many beautiful quilts made by all the talented ladies…
Thanks for sharing Jude.
THank you thank you for the quilt exhibit photos! The one log cabin looks like an extension of the lady's hair. It made me smile.
